CASE STUDY:

PECOMETH

CLIENT

BACKGROUND

For more than 75 years, Pecometh Camp & Retreat Ministries has offered a sacred place where faith, community, and nature meet. Located on the shores of the Chester River in Centreville, Maryland, Pecometh provides summer camps, retreats, and family programming that invite individuals of all ages to grow in faith, experience renewal, and build lasting connections.

Yet even with that rich legacy, Pecometh found itself at a crossroads: their brand identity had grown outdated, their online presence was under-performing, and their messaging lacked consistency across touchpoints.

CHALLENGES

Challenge 1:

Outdated Brand Identity

Pecometh’s visual identity and communications no longer reflected the vitality, inclusivity, and modern spirit of their mission. The look and feel felt stuck in the past, limiting appeal, especially among younger families and prospective campers.

Challenge 2:

Ineffective Online Presence

With a wealth of programs offering day camps, overnight camps, retreats, and family experiences, Pecometh needed a website and digital presence that could showcase everything clearly, drive registrations, and speak directly to the needs and values of families. Yet analytics revealed low engagement, under-leveraged traffic, and higher bounce rates than desired.

Challenge 3:

Inconsistent Messaging

Across print materials, digital media, and onsite assets, the messages weren’t aligned: some emphasized “camp fun,” others “faith formation,” still others “retreat and renewal.” This fragmentation diluted Pecometh’s trusted reputation and made it harder for new families to understand what made Pecometh distinct.
